Gentle Day Today, softly planned
A desktop planner for neurodivergent days

A schedule that feels like a sketch, not a contract.

Gentle Day is a calm day-planning app for people who want structure without pressure: time blocks when they help, a list when they don’t, and Google Calendar as a read-only layer around the real day.

  • Windows + macOS builds available
  • Google Calendar stays read-only
  • Built with AI, then hand-polished

Why I built it.

A small app with a real origin story: one conversation, one need, and a weekend of AI-assisted making.

“I want a planner that doesn’t make me feel bad when the day changes.”

That was the spark: planning with less guilt, less visual noise, and more room for a creative brain to breathe.

A friend came over while I was talking about how I build apps with AI now. She has ADHD, and she’d always wanted a neurodivergent-friendly planner/calendar app that could help her plan the day without turning the plan into pressure.

So I mocked it up with Open Design, built the first version with Claude, tightened the app with Codex, and published it. Gentle Day is the result: a soft place to sketch the day, move tasks between schedule and list, and keep real calendar events as anchors instead of commands.

Made for the days that refuse to behave.

Gentle Day borrows the structure of a calendar, but keeps the emotional temperature closer to a notebook.

01

Schedule when it helps.

Drag a task onto the day to time-block it. Resize, move, or pull it back into the list when reality changes.

02

List when time is too much.

Some days need a flexible checklist, not a minute-by-minute plan. Gentle Day keeps both modes close by.

03

Real events stay real.

Google Calendar events appear as read-only boundaries, so meetings and appointments guide the plan without becoming another inbox.

Try it, star it, or help fund the next build.

If Gentle Day helps you or someone you love, the easiest support is a GitHub star. Coffee money also helps keep the project moving.

Plan gently. Change freely. Count “done enough.”

Gentle Day is still early, but the intention is clear: make planning feel less like failing at a perfect system and more like giving your day a soft place to land.
