CPU Bottleneck
The XG Mobile Paradox
Welcome, Guardian. The stutters you are experiencing are not a lack of power, but a lack of synchronization. Your RTX 3080 is waiting on the Z1 Extreme CPU.
The Symptom
Lowering resolution from 4K to 1440p often increases stutters. This is because the GPU finishes work faster, screaming for more data from a CPU that is already overwhelmed by the game's complex environment logic.
The Solution
We must shift the load back to the GPU or bypass the CPU bottleneck entirely using Frame Generation. Select a module from the navigation to begin optimization.
Critical Pre-Flight Check
Profile: 4K Fidelity
VISUAL PRIORITYTargeting 3840x2160. We maximize GPU usage to alleviate CPU pacing issues. Ray Tracing must be OFF as the BVH structure build cost on the CPU is too high.
Profile: 1440p Stable
RECOMMENDEDThis is the sweet spot for the Ally screen size. We crank up the textures to Ultra (since the 3080 has the VRAM) but keep geometry settings in check to protect the CPU.
System Override
Direct config manipulation to bypass engine limitations.
Steam Launch Options
Right-click Game > Properties > General > Launch Options
Config File Inject
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Eidos Montreal\Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy\Saved_Settings\Graphics_Options.xml
Exploit Protection Bypass
Windows "Control Flow Guard" hates this game's DX12 implementation.
Lossless Scaling Protocol
The Strategy: Render the game at 1440p (easier on CPU) to get a locked 60 FPS. Then, use the external app to Upscale to 4K + Generate Fake Frames for a 120 FPS output.
